Housing is no minor matter. For a craftsman from Poland, Romania or Portugal working in the Netherlands for the first time, the place to sleep is almost more important than the workplace itself. That is why FlexHero works exclusively with housing partners that are SNF-certified — the Dutch quality standard for housing for international workers.
What is SNF?
SNF (Stichting Normering Flexwonen) is the independent body that sets quality standards for housing for labour migrants. An SNF-certified property is inspected annually for aspects such as square metres per person, fire safety, sanitary facilities, noise standards and privacy.
FlexHero works exclusively with SNF-certified locations. No exceptions.
What exactly do you get?
- Your own room (in 80% of cases) or shared with a maximum of one colleague
- Fully furnished: bed, wardrobe, desk, chair
- Shared kitchen with hob, fridge, microwave
- Shared bathroom facilities (max. 1 shower per 5 people)
- Wi-Fi included
- Washing machine and tumble dryer on site
- Bed linen and towels for the first 2 weeks
- Weekly cleaning of communal areas
How much does it cost?
We deduct €65 per payslip per week for your housing. This amount is all-inclusive — gas, water, electricity, internet, cleaning and council/tourist tax are all included. No surprises afterwards.
The rent is automatically deducted from your salary. You’ll see the amount clearly stated on your payslip.
How far from work?
We aim for a maximum of 30 km between housing and the workplace. In practice, 80% of our locations are within 20 km. For those living further away: company bus or reimbursement for private transport.
Frequently asked questions.
Can I bring my partner or family?
Not for SNF units — these are for one person per room. However, we do have a number of larger apartments (2 bedrooms) available for couples or a parent and child. Ask your advisor.
What if I want to move out?
You can do so at any time. Just give us 14 days’ notice. You only pay up to the move-out date. No penalties, no long notice periods.
Will I get my deposit back?
You don’t pay a deposit on signing up. However, FlexHero does retain one month’s rent as a security deposit for any damage — this will be refunded if the property is left in good condition.
Can I work from home within the complex?
Yes, for your own administrative purposes. For commercial work from the accommodation: please check with your advisor regarding the housing partner’s company policies.
What if there’s a problem with the room?
Call your advisor — they’ll sort it out within 24 hours. For structural issues (heating, leaks), we’ll escalate the matter to the accommodation partner within 4 hours.
