Safety & BHV
BHV Company Emergency Response
Legally required for one person per shift. Learn evacuation, first aid and firefighting. Annual refresher.
First aid on the go
Practical first aid for accidents on the shop floor and on the road. Bandaging, CPR, AED.
Social safety
Recognise aggression, unwanted behaviour and boundary-crossing conduct. For anyone who deals with the public or supervises teams.
Engineering and Safety
Risk awareness on the technical shop floor: machine safety, personal protective equipment, LMRA (last-minute risk analysis).
VCA Basis / VOL
Basis for operational staff · VOL for supervisors. Exam via SSVV. Valid for 10 years.
Transport & Driver Training
ADR Basic (2-day)
Obtain or renew — transport of dangerous goods by road. Exam included.
Drivers' day
Refresher day covering current laws and regulations, driving and rest times, tachograph practice and route planning.
Code 95
Mandatory 35 hours of periodic training for professional drivers (5-year cycle). Can be completed in modules.
Digital Tachograph
How do you download the data, what do you need to record, what are the fines? Practical and compact.
Road safety training
Defensive driving, tyre checks, blind-spot awareness, working near roadworks.
Lifting & Warehouse Equipment
Working safely (basic)
General warehouse safety training — for anyone who comes into contact with internal transport.
Forklift
Theory + practical day. Final certificate in line with Dutch health and safety (Arbo) guidelines. Valid for 5 years.
Reach truck
Narrow aisles, high racking, balance when lifting. 1 intensive day.
Electric Pallet Truck (EPT)
Quick, short training (½ day) for those who only move pallets — no lifting work.
Stacker
For stackers with a pedestrian or ride-on operator. Includes a practical exam.
Aerial work platform
IPAF 3a/3b — scissor lifts and articulated boom lifts. Internationally recognised card.
Overhead crane
Working with overhead cranes and lifting gear. Load stability, signalling, safety factors.
Personal development & employability
Communication & social skills
Communicating clearly with colleagues and supervisors, giving and receiving feedback, addressing conflicts.
Physical strain
Lifting technique, ergonomics on the shop floor, recovery exercises — prevent back and neck problems.
How it works.
At intake, you discuss with your adviser which courses are relevant to your goal — immediately useful (VCA, certificate update) or longer term (language, career progression). Courses take place during working hours; paid hours count towards your salary and pension. Materials and exam fees: on us.
Career path in your trade.
For those who want it: a structured career path. Start as a production worker and move into logistics via forklift certification, or into specialist work via a welding course. Every stage means higher pay (€65-400/month per step).
Passed? The certificate is yours to keep.
All certificates you earn are in your name, not FlexHero's. If you later start with another employer, they remain valid. We keep them available digitally in the Mijn FlexHero portal.
Frequently asked questions.
Do I have to repay the course if I leave?
No, never. Our courses are an investment in you. No repayment obligation, no minimum period of employment attached.
Do I get paid during the course?
Yes, simply your normal hourly wage. Course hours count towards your pension and holiday allowance.
Which courses are mandatory?
Only VCA Basis for industrial workplaces — we arrange that as standard before your first working day. The rest is optional.
What if I prefer to learn in my own time?
That's possible too — for example for the language course, which is partly online. Discuss with your adviser which combination works for you.
How many courses can I take per year?
No hard limit. In practice, active skilled workers take 1-3 courses a year. The only limits are the hours available and what fits your assignment.
