About the position.
As a steel fixer, you take care of the reinforcing steel structures that concrete work rests on. You work on construction sites in the Eindhoven region, where every day you process and tie steel into strong supports for foundations, floors and columns. In this trade, precision and physical effort go hand in hand.
What will you be doing?
- Reading and interpreting drawings to process reinforcing steel to size
- Bending and cutting reinforcing bar using bending and cutting machines
- Tying reinforcing bars with tying pliers and wire at the correct size and spacing
- Placing reinforcement mesh and steel structures in accordance with drawings and tolerances
- Checking for correct concrete cover and reinforcement position before pouring
- Working with the site manager and concrete gang to meet the schedule
What we ask of you.
- Proven experience as a steel fixer, preferably in civil engineering or general construction
- Able to read simple reinforcement and construction drawings
- Physically fit and able to carry heavy materials at varying locations
- VCA Basis (or willingness to obtain it)
- Able to work independently and take responsibility for the quality of your work
