About the position.

Welding aluminium places different demands on your technique than steel: the material conducts heat quickly, oxidises quickly and requires specific preparation and equipment settings. As an aluminium welder, you use TIG or MIG/pulse MIG to work on structures and parts in a wide range of aluminium alloys, from the 5xxx series to the 6xxx series.

What will you be doing?

• Welding aluminium structures and parts using TIG or pulsed MIG technique
• Cleaning and degreasing aluminium surfaces before and after welding
• Setting welding equipment to the specific parameters for aluminium alloys
• Reading working drawings and determining the correct sequence to limit distortion
• Checking welds for porosity, cracks and incomplete fusion
• Finishing welded joints by pickling, brushing or grinding where applicable

What we ask of you.

• MBO level 3 in Welding, with proven specialisation in aluminium
• At least 2 years' work experience welding aluminium (TIG and/or MIG)
• Knowledge of common aluminium alloys (5083, 6061, 6082) and their welding properties
• An aluminium welding qualification in accordance with EN ISO 9606-2 is a strong advantage
• Accurate, safety-conscious and quality-focused
