About the position.
As a bench fitter, you work on metal structures and machine parts that need to be precisely fitted, filed and joined. You use hand tools and measuring instruments to bring parts within tolerance. Precision and a good eye for dimensions are your most important tools every day.
What will you be doing?
- Filing, scraping and fitting metal parts to size
- Checking tolerances with callipers, micrometers and dial gauges
- Assembling and fitting mechanical structures
- Carrying out repairs to worn and damaged machine parts
- Adjusting fits and bearings in mechanical drives
What we ask of you.
- MBO level 2 or 3 in Metalworking, Bench Fitting or similar
- Proven experience with bench fitting work in a production or maintenance environment
- Competent in reading technical drawings and parts lists
- Working accurately to tight tolerances (IT6–IT8 class)
- Able to work independently and check your own work
