Plastics Welder

About the position.

As a plastics welder, you join thermoplastic materials such as PE, PP and PVC to create pipework, tanks and industrial structures. You work with hot gas welding, butt fusion (hot plate) welding and extrusion welding equipment and are responsible for the tightness and strength of every weld. Quality control is an integral part of your work.

What will you be doing?

• Welding plastic pipes, sheets and profiles (PE, PP, PVC, PVDF)
• Making hot gas, butt fusion and extrusion welded joints
• Checking weld quality through visual inspection and pressure tests
• Reading isometric piping drawings and welding schedules
• Preparing weld surfaces (planing, cleaning, positioning)
• Documenting welded joints in line with the QA protocol (weld reporting)

What we ask of you.

• DVS 2212 or a comparable plastics welding certificate (hot gas and/or butt fusion welding)
• At least 2 years' work experience as a plastics welder in industry or building services
• Knowledge of thermoplastic materials and how they can be welded
• Accurate and quality-conscious
• Willing to work on location at clients' sites in the region
