About the position.
As a stainless steel welder, you work on stainless steel structures, equipment and piping systems where corrosion resistance, surface quality and hygiene are paramount. You have mastered TIG welding on thin-walled stainless steel and produce neat, clean welds that sometimes remain visible in the finished product.
What will you be doing?
- Welding stainless steel parts, pipes and plates using TIG (AC/DC) or MIG
- Making root passes with TIG and filling in line with the welding procedure
- Preparing stainless steel workpieces: degreasing, aligning and tack welding
- Controlling heat input to limit discolouration, distortion and intergranular corrosion
- Finishing welds by pickling, polishing or brushing in line with the surface specification
- Checking weld quality and documenting in line with the quality plan
What we ask of you.
- Proven work experience in TIG welding stainless steel (austenitic stainless steel 304/316)
- MBO level 3 in Welding or equivalent through practical experience
- Knowledge of heat input control and stainless-steel-specific weld preparation
- A stainless steel welding qualification in accordance with EN ISO 9606-1 is an advantage
- An eye for surface quality and willingness to work to hygiene standards
