TIG Welder

About the position.

TIG welding demands a steady hand, concentration and craftsmanship. As a TIG welder, you work on precision jobs in thin-walled materials, often stainless steel or aluminium, where visible weld quality carries great weight. You work from drawings and are responsible for a clean, repair-free result.

What will you be doing?

• Welding joints in stainless steel, aluminium or alloys using the TIG process
• Setting up the TIG welding equipment for the correct current, gas flow and electrode
• Reading weld detail drawings, including joint preparation and tolerances
• Preparing weld edges by sanding, degreasing and aligning
• Visually assessing the weld for imperfections and reworking where necessary
• Documenting welding parameters in accordance with quality procedures

What we ask of you.

• MBO level 3 in Welding, with proven TIG competence
• A valid TIG welding qualification in accordance with EN ISO 9606-1 (steel) or 9606-2 (aluminium) is an advantage
• Experience with thin-walled sheet metal in stainless steel and/or aluminium
• Fine motor precision and able to work with concentration for long periods
• Knowledge of material behaviour at high temperatures and distortion
