About the position.

As Prevention Officer, you support the organisation in identifying and controlling risks in the workplace. You are the link between the shop floor and management in the areas of working conditions and absence prevention. You work independently, but liaise in good time with managers and external occupational health and safety services.

What will you be doing?

• Carrying out and keeping up to date the risk inventory and evaluation (RI&E) in collaboration with managers
• Identifying unsafe situations during workplace inspections and drawing up improvement proposals
• Helping to draw up and maintain health and safety instructions for employees
• Organising toolbox meetings and contributing to awareness of safe working
• Keeping track of statutory obligations and ensuring records are up to date
• Acting as the point of contact for employees with questions about working conditions and the use of PPE

What we ask of you.

• MBO level 4 or HBO degree; a Prevention Officer certificate (recognised by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment, SZW) is required
• Basic knowledge of the Working Conditions Act (Arbowet) and the obligations that apply to the role of prevention officer
• Preferably 1-2 years' experience in a similar position within a technical or industrial company
• Strong communicator: you know how to motivate colleagues on the shop floor to work safely
• Structured approach with an eye for detail when maintaining documentation and records
