Sick? How to report sick
Call before 07:30, have your BSN to hand, and find out what you’ll be paid.
How do you report sick?
Call or WhatsApp +31 85 62 05 000 before 07:30 in the morning (option 9 for the 24/7 sick leave line). Have your BSN, name, work location and a brief reason to hand. Also call the hiring company to cancel your shift.
Call — don’t just send a message. A missed sick report counts as a no-show and will affect your pay and your current contract.
Pay in the event of illness
Under the client company’s collective agreement:
- Days 1–2: waiting days (no pay)
- Day 3 to week 52: 91% of your daily wage
- Week 53 to 104: 80% of your daily wage
The daily wage is calculated based on your average earnings in the 13 weeks prior to reporting sick (including ORT, overtime and allowances).
Company doctor & absence protocol
From day 4 onwards, you can expect to be contacted by our occupational health service. If you are off sick for more than 2 weeks: an appointment with the company doctor. This is mandatory. We will follow the Gatekeeper Improvement Act procedure together with you.
Reporting your return to work
Feeling fit again? Please also ring back our sick leave line and the hiring company — at least the evening before so that the schedule can be adjusted. We appreciate it if you are realistic: carrying on working whilst only half recovered often leads to a relapse.
Sick & in a FlexHero home
