Your contract — indefinite term & fixed hours
At FlexHero, you sign just one type of contract: an indefinite-term contract with a fixed number of hours in line with the client company’s collective agreement. No flex phases, no temporary contracts. Read on to find out how it works.
At a glance
- One contract type: employment contract with an indefinite term, from day one.
- Fixed weekly hours, agreed in consultation in accordance with the client company’s collective labour agreement.
- Hirer's remuneration: the same pay as a Dutch colleague in the same role.
- Continued pay between assignments: if the assignment changes, the contract remains in place.
- Termination: by mutual agreement, in accordance with the client company’s collective labour agreement and the Civil Code.
The contract type: indefinite term
FlexHero no longer works with the traditional temporary employment phases A/B/C. Everyone who works for us signs an employment contract of an indefinite term. This gives you the security of permanent employment from day one: continuous pay, pension accrual, sick pay and — very practically — an employment contract that your mortgage lender accepts.
Hours: fixed in accordance with the client company’s collective agreement
Your contract specifies a fixed number of hours per week. That number of hours is your basis for pay, holiday allowance and pension. The applicable collective agreement determines how that number of hours is set and adjusted (for example, following a period in which you have consistently worked more or fewer hours). We always record any changes in writing.
Wages, holiday allowance & pension
Your salary follows the hirer's remuneration: the same hourly rate as a Dutch colleague in the same role at the client company. In addition, you receive 8.33% holiday allowance and start accruing pension through StiPP from your first day of work. Your pay is paid into your account every Thursday; you can find your payslip online in My FlexHero.
Between assignments
Is an assignment coming to an end? Your contract simply continues. We’ll arrange your next assignment — usually straight away, sometimes with a short gap. During that period, we’ll continue to pay you in accordance with the client company’s collective agreement. You don’t need to do anything except be available for the agreed number of hours.
No more flex phase: you don’t have to wait 78 weeks for a permanent contract. You have that from day one. We keep track of your employment in My FlexHero — you’ll receive all changes in writing in advance.
Termination
Want to stop? You can do so at any time. Your notice period as an employee is, in principle, one month to the end of the month, in accordance with the client company’s collective labour agreement. For FlexHero, a notice period applies that increases with your years of service (Civil Code Art. 7:672). To give notice, we ask for written notification (an email to your advisor is sufficient).
Direct employment by the client company
Many client companies wish to take craftsmen on directly in due course. We actively facilitate this. Up to 1,500 hours worked, a sliding-scale transfer fee applies; thereafter, the transfer is free of charge for both you and the client company. Terms and conditions are set out in the general terms and conditions.
What about payroll or secondment?
In the case of payroll and secondment, craftsmen sign the same indefinite term employment contract. The only difference lies in who handles the recruitment and the duration of the assignment — not in the type of contract. Ask your advisor which arrangement applies to your situation.
