Estimator (Technical)

About the position.

As a technical estimator, you translate a technical project into a feasible quotation in financial terms. You analyse drawings and specifications, calculate material and labour costs and weigh up risks. A sharp price and a realistic margin: that is the balance you strike.

What will you be doing?

• Analysing technical drawings, specifications and requirements for quotation calculations
• Calculating material, machining and labour costs
• Requesting and assessing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
• Compiling estimate files and explaining them internally to project management
• Monitoring post-calculation and comparing actual costs with the budget
• Identifying risks and additional work and recording these in the estimate

What we ask of you.

• MBO 4 or HBO working and thinking level, in mechanical engineering, construction engineering or building services engineering
• At least 2 years' experience as an estimator or work planner in a technical sector
• Skilled in reading technical drawings and specifications
• Analytical mindset and accurate with figures
• Experience with estimating software or Excel models
