About the position.

The Work Planner / Drafter prepares and translates technical information into clear drawings, work instructions, and material requirements to support production. The role bridges the gap between engineering and the workshop, ensuring that designs are practical, efficient, and ready for manufacturing. It involves interpreting technical drawings, coordinating with production teams, and supporting the planning of materials and processes. The position is well suited for both junior candidates and experienced production professionals looking to move into a technical office-based role.

What will you be doing?

• Preparing and reviewing technical drawings for production or installation
• Translating production requirements into clear work instructions
• Supporting planning of materials, labor, and production steps
• Communicating with production teams and engineers
• Ordering or preparing material lists (BOM – Bill of Materials)
• Ensuring projects are feasible from a production point of view
• Supporting optimization of production processes

What we ask of you.

• Basic to good understanding of technical drawings (2D CAD; 3D CAD is a plus)
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical or industrial drawings
• Familiarity with production or fabrication processes (metalwork, welding, machining, or insulation is a plus)
• Basic knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods
• Experience with CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor or similar – depending on company setup)
• Good computer skills (MS Office, especially Excel for planning tasks)

Bonus — nice to have:

• Not strictly required to have prior experience as a work planner or drafter
• Background in production (e.g. welder, machinist, fabricator, or assembly worker) is highly valued
• Experience in a technical or industrial environment preferred
• Candidates with 0–5 years of relevant experience are acceptable
• Willingness to learn design and preparation work is essential
