About the position.
As a CNC turner, you machine rotationally symmetrical parts on CNC lathes to micrometre-level accuracy. You set up the machine, select tools and monitor the machining process. Working to tight tolerances and independently assessing measurement results are key skills in your role.
What will you be doing?
- Setting up and operating CNC lathes (Fanuc, Siemens or Heidenhain controls)
- Clamping and aligning workpieces in four-jaw or three-jaw chucks
- Adjusting and optimising NC programs (subprograms, offsets)
- Measuring and checking finished parts with micrometers, dial gauges and a 3D probe
- Selecting and setting up cutting tools (indexable inserts, boring tools)
- Monitoring tool wear and carrying out tool changes
What we ask of you.
- MBO level 3 or 4 in Machining or CNC machining
- At least 2 years of proven experience on a CNC lathe
- Competent in reading technical drawings with GD&T tolerances
- Experience with Fanuc or Siemens controls; Mazak or DMG is an advantage
- Being able to set up independently (not just operate) is required
