About the position.
As a CNC Press Brake Operator, you bend sheet metal in steel, stainless steel and aluminium on modern CNC press brakes into products that combine dimensional accuracy with a quality finish. You do your own set-ups, choose the right tools and monitor the quality of every product that comes off your machine. Speed and accuracy go hand in hand here.
What will you be doing?
- Programming and setting up CNC press brakes (Trumpf, Bystronic, Amada or similar)
- Selecting upper and lower tools to suit material thickness and bending radius
- Bending sheet metal according to technical drawings and bending schedules
- Checking bending angles and dimensions with a protractor and callipers
- Changing over the machine between orders and keeping tool records up to date
- Identifying and reporting deviations in material or laser-cutting quality
What we ask of you.
- MBO 2 qualification in sheet metal working, structural engineering or similar, or proven work experience
- Practical experience with CNC press brakes in a sheet metal company
- Able to read technical drawings and understand flat patterns
- Knowledge of material behaviour during bending (springback, minimum bending radius per thickness)
- Efficient and careful with batch work; willing to work in a continuous production rhythm
