Workshop Manager

About the position.

As Workshop Manager, you bear ultimate responsibility for day-to-day operations in the workshop: from staff planning and work allocation to quality control and logistics coordination. You keep the overview, resolve bottlenecks before they become problems and make sure machines, people and materials are in the right place at the right time. You report directly to the general manager or operations manager.

What will you be doing?

• Leading workshop staff and monitoring daily staffing levels and productivity
• Planning and monitoring the flow of work orders in consultation with production and logistics
• Monitoring quality and safety standards and ensuring compliance
• Tracking and analysing KPIs such as OEE, lead time and reject rate
• Managing tools, measuring equipment and minor machine maintenance
• Conducting performance reviews and appraisals with employees

What we ask of you.

• MBO 4 or HBO working and thinking level, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Production Technology
• At least 5 years' relevant work experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role in a production or workshop environment
• Proven ability to structure processes and motivate employees
• Knowledge of lean production principles and common ERP systems (SAP, AFAS or similar)
• VCA VOL certification required; experience with ISO 9001 quality systems is an advantage
